Wildfire In Boulder CO

Here are some pics from the Settler’s Park Wildfire taken on Sunday April 20th 2008.

I was actually headed to Rocky Mountain National Park to take some nature shots but as I was driving into town I saw that the entire downtown area was blanketed in smoke so I decided to take a detour to see what the source of it was. I spent about an hour shooting pictures but the slurry bomber was probably the most dramatic and interesting shots I took.

The images above are rendered using the NextGEN Gallery plugin, which is a pretty nice system. I also tried a Wordpress plugin for SimpleViewer but it was causing me usability issues since it’s flash and when focus was on the flash object the mouse scroll wheel events were used to page through the images.
