Wordpress and Facebook Integration
While I’m not so much a fan of social networking applications per se, I do like integrating things and that’s a large part of social networking from a technologists point of view. RSS and the Facebook platform are integrative technologies so they’ve piqued my interest this week. This entry is an attempt to get my blog posts to show up on my Facebook profile.
Can you see this?
I knew you could…I’m also updating this entry to see if the changes propogate.
So the integration of my self-hosted Wordpress instance and Facebook was accomplished in two ways: one including my feed using the Facebook Note feature and also by using Wordbook (the author of the plugin, Robert Tsai, did a great job making it work flawlessly. Thanks!). I’m not sure which I like better but I’ll them both run in parallel while I make a decision.
That’s one thing I’ve noticed since I’ve been working with my Wordpress blog: there are plugin authors who are doing a great job of writing very useful and eminently usable software. Great job folks and thank you!
