Pictures: Week of May 26th

It’s again time to spruce up the place with more pictures…

I took the kids to the Denver Zoo yesterday for the first time this season and though it’s challenging to wrangle kids at the zoo, managed to take a few interesting pictures. Of those that I took I thought the pictures of some parrots that we were allowed to interact with in an aviary were the best.

I also went to Barr Lake with a friend of mine today and shot a number of pictures. While Barr Lake is known for hosting Bald Eagle’s, we didn’t see any of those. We did see some coots, Blue Herons and the Pelican in the gallery below. We also saw lots of red wing blackbirds, some kill deer (and real deer), a gopher snake and a couple of cowpokes.

I also read about a digital photographic technique called HDR (High Dynamic Range) imaging so I thought I give it a whirl. The first two pictures in the new gallery are tweaked in this manner. Not great but thought I’d share anyway.

So here are some highlights of my weekend:
